PS3 2.4 Firmware Update Re-released

Last week the 2.4 firmware update was released but brought troubles with it. From killing Playstation 3s to screwing up game save files, the update did everything wrong. However, today it is back and has brought a new looking platinum trophy with it! Many are excited as trophies have finally hit the Playstation 3 for everyone now. I had the update already and now have to update again. (crap) Above is a picture of the new platinum trophy.

The Future of Infinity Ward and Call of Duty 4

On July 3rd a post was made on Iamfourzerotwo's blog. If you don't know who fourzerotwo is you must have been living under a rock for a year. His name is Robert Bowling and he works for Infinity Ward. Robert has given the community news before the Call of Duty 4 Infinity Ward site was ever launched. Well, on the 3rd he revealed that Activision and Infinity Ward made a deal to further make Call of Duty 4 better. New DLCs were mentioned and today he posted another interesting story. Robert played with others the past week on Call of Duty 4 and is starting to push the idea of new playlists are being pushed by him! Hopefully the team over at Infinity Ward will bring out new playlists for the community! -Crosses Fingers-

Bungie Announcement on the 14th?

It looks like the team over at Kotaku have found something interesting. As many know E3 starts next monday (the 14th) and a recent bungie podcast hinted something being prepped for the show. Perhaps this is a tease or maybe it isn't! The chat goes like so:

Brian: Isn't there something going on on July 14th or something like that?
Luke: Yeah, around then.
Brian: Somehow that's sticking in my head for some reason. Guess we'll have to see.
Luke: Yep, we'll just have to be patient. Who could say?

Could this be the rumored Peter Jackson project with halo? Is this a new game possibly being put out by Bungie? We shall find out!

New Ratchet and Clank Game?

Yes you heard it right there seems to be another Ratchet and Clank game on the horizon. On the ESRB website a rating for the game "Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty" was found! No word on the game not even a trailer has been released. The game seems to be only for the Playstation 3 and may be one of many surprises at E3 from Sony. Maybe when E3 rolls into town more info will be released about this game!

Socom: Confrontation News

Well this past weekend Socom fans got good news and bad news. First the good news! A trailer was released of the game and it looks great so far! Check it out!

However, the bad news is that Socom: Confrontation will be delayed until October 14. According to many sources the delay is due to quality of the game. "Unfortunately, even working late into the nights and every weekend, we've had to re-evaluate our schedule," said SCEA director of development Seth Luisi. "Our top priority is delivering the best SOCOM online experience possible. Tough decisions had to be made and we've decided to push back the release date to October 14th, 2008. We just had to face the facts and do what is best for the title. Rather than sacrifice features, quality and stability, we had to do the right thing and re-adjust our schedule." Hopefully this time will help the game improve! I'll be waiting for my soon to be prized copy of this game.

Chrono Trigger for the DS Teaser

Video Game Rating Guide!

As said this blog features video game ratings. Well, with video game ratings there must be some sort of grading scale to show what a game is like. So The Download Today now has a grading rubric for all games. The scale is a 1-5 star rating.

Rating and What it Means

1 Star- Game is covered with either glitches or has many problems. The so called "game" should not have been released.

2 Stars- Game is either filled with problems or has some sections of an average missing from it.

3 Stars- An average game. Everything in the game is average.

4 Stars- A little bit better than average. It has many things going for it but is almost a great game.

5 Stars- A great game. Every part of this game is great and should be an automatic buy as a fan of this genre.

Along with the given stars a meter of Buy, Rent, or Pass will be given.

1-2 Stars will be considered a PASS.
3 Stars will be considered a RENT.
4-5 Stars will be considered a BUY.

This will be the permanent rating scale for now. Remember, this blog will give you honest opinions unlike some gaming sites which are easily convinced of better ratings with such things as ads being put on their websites. Please enjoy the blog and remember I give one opinion. Check out others opinions too or if you want a certain game and I give it a bad rating still try it out!
